LABORERS NATIONAL PENSION FUND

Vesting

Prior to 12/31/1991 – 10 years of combined credit; and, after 12/31/1991, 5 years Future Service Credit if not under a permanent break in service on that date.

Types of Pensions/Death Benefits Provided:
Regular Pension Service Pension
Early Retirement Pension Vested Pension
Disability Pension Reciprocal Pension
Widow/Widower’s Pension Survivor Option Pension
Early Retirement Pension with Social Security Option

IF YOU ARE RECEIVING PENSION BENEFITS, ALWAYS CALL OR WRITE THE FUND OFFICE IF:
You move, giving new address, signing your own name to note;
You become ill and unable to sign checks;
Your spouse dies or you divorce, sending proper proof;
After the 20th day of any month if check is not received; or,
You return to work.

Your best answers regarding retirement comes from the Fund Office in Dallas. The Local Union will not have all the information you need. The final say in pension matters comes through the Pension Fund office.

HEALTH & WELFARE 

Initial Eligibility

You will become initially eligible for benefits under the Plan on the first day of the month after you have worked for which contributions were reported from a contributing Employer or Employers for at least 600 hours worked within a consecutive 12 month period. (You will be eligible for at least one full quarter plus any partial quarter from your initial eligibility date).

Eligibility Rules 

All Employees working for a contributing Employer or Employers within the jurisdiction of the Fund shall be eligible to receive benefits after meeting the following eligibility requirements.
Eligibility is based on Contribution Quarters and Benefit Quarters as follows:

Contribution Quarters – Work Performed During                                                                                                
December, January, February
March, April, May
June, July, August
September, October, November
Benefit Quarters – Determines Eligibility For 
 May, June, July
 August, September, October
November, December, January
February, March, April
